Expression of oxidative stress enzymes, mechanisms of defense and resistance to microorganisms, micronucleus tests and comet assays, mutagenic actions, genotoxic analyzes, secondary metabolites, and in vitro tissue culture.

Tolerance and resistance to pollutants, detoxification in the flora of coastal ecosystems and identification of phyto-indicators for impacted environmental. The cyanobacteria and species of the mangrove, restinga and Atlantic forest are used as models.

Photosynthesis, oxidative stress metabolism, phytochemistry, carbon storage, ecological anatomy, seed germination, and fruit and native growth under the influence of environmental variables.
General Information
The Postgraduate Program in Plant Biology is based at the Center for Humanities and Natural Sciences of the Federal University of Espírito Santo. The program is recognized by publications in international high-impact journals such as the Annals of Botany, Trees, Photosynthetic, Plant Disease, Journal of Experimental Botany, Environmental and Experimental Botany, Physiologia Plantarum, Environmental Pollution, Plant Physiology and New Phytologist and the Journal of Proteomics. It aims to:
● To train masters and PhD students in the different research areas of plant biology, especially in the field of plant physiology;
● To train teachers to be primary school educators in order to meet the growing educational needs of the various fields of plant biology;
● To support research and promote the individual development of researchers in the various areas of plant biology.
Postgraduate Degrees
The masters and doctoral programs in Plant Biology were launched in 2002 and 2013, respectively. One-hundred and eight masters students and seven doctoral students have graduated under the program, which currently has 52 students enrolled (20 masters and 32 PhD candidates).
The program is based in Vitória-ES, offering the course of Courses since 2002 e the course of Courses since 2013 and has an academic qualification profile certified by CAPES, receiving 4 on its last evaluation.
The program already has 172 masters and 50 doctors and counts with 35 students regularly enrolled, being 9 in the masters and 26 in the doctorate.
